Drag Photography In Olso
I had the pleasure of photographing the extraordinary Marie Murby in Oslo, Norway at my photo studio in Ensjø. She arrived at my studio with a sculptural drag suit covered in what seemed to be infinite green buttons — a piece she created entirely herself, each button meticulously placed. From the moment she stepped on set, it was clear this would be a session full of fun, energy, and experimentation.
“We’re all born naked and the rest is drag.”
We kept the setup (relatively) simple: one green backdrop, studio lighting, and plenty of space for Marie to take up the frame. The suit — architectural, weird, and wonderful — demanded full attention. I wanted the lighting to show every angle of it, without overcomplicating the shot.
What I love most about this shoot is how it captures the duality in Marie’s presence: fierce and playful, avant-garde and grounded. Portraits like these are why I love working with artists who are redefining the rules.
If you're a performer, artist, or creative professional looking for portraits that capture your unique story and visual world — whether in Oslo, NYC, or beyond — I’d love to connect. Let’s make something unforgettable.
